Cessna

Cessna Aircraft Company is considered to be the world's largest manufacturer of general aviation airplanes, based on unit sales, and they are a subsidiary of Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT), a $10 Billion multi-industry company. Cessna Aircraft was founded in 1927 and more than 187,000 Cessna airplanes have been delivered to nearly every country in the world. Cessna Aircraft has three manufacturing facilities located in Wichita, KS; Independence, KS, and Columbus, GA. Cessna Aircraft has nine Cessna Citation Service Centers throughout the United States and two international, so they have a strong aircraft support system. In addition, Cessna has over 250 Cessna Pilot Training Centers throughout the world.

According to the Cessna Aircraft Company, over half of the general aviation aircraft flying today are Cessna aircraft, and the global fleet of more than 4,500 Citations is the largest fleet of business jets in the world. The Cessna Aircraft currently manufacturers six types of single engine piston aircraft, four types of Caravan aircraft, and nine types of business jets. The Cessna Citation line of business jets features the record setting Citation X on the high-end and the newly certified Citation Mustang on the cost effective end of the product line.

The Cessna Mustang has a price tag of $2.53 M and was the first very light jet, VLJ, to be certified by the FAA; which was completed in September of 2006. Just like the Cessna Mustang, the Cessna Citation CJ1 seats four passengers, however, it delivers much more power (1,965 lbs thrust vs. 1,350), speed (448 mph vs. 391 mph), cabin space (272 cu. ft. vs. 230), and has a $4.18 M price tag. On the high-end of the Cessna aircraft line is the Cessna Citation X with a maximum speed of over 600 mph, 593 cu. ft. cabin, and a price tag of $19.65 M.

There are plenty of reasons to like Cessna aircraft, the history of aircraft manufacturing excellence, the variety of aircraft, the support operations, and much, much more. Cessna sells Citation business jets factory-direct, and they have a team of sales managers that can assist in your purchasing process.
